SIAL Exhibition in Shanghai

Rusprodexport has signed a cooperation agreement with Chinese partners at the 2019 Shanghai Expo.

Rusprodexport, a Russian company producing, distributing, and exporting healthy and dietary food products, took part in the SIAL China international food exhibition in Shanghai in 2019. Rusprodexport presented its products to Chinese entrepreneurs and concluded a supply agreement.

"This is not the first year Rusprodexport has taken part in SIAL in Shanghai, but it was this year that saw a particularly active negotiation process between the companies. We also signed a contract for the supply of products that we produce: muesli, cereal, granola and other ready-made breakfast cereals and porridge to the Chinese market. The contract amount was half a million dollars. Cooperation with numerous partners, both in Russia and abroad, particularly China, forms a necessary platform for our business and gives new opportunities for development," said a company representative.

The agreement was signed with one of the Chinese distribution companies in order to jointly develop a new product from the original formulation, package design, which will be understandable and attractive to the target audience and will help to promote this product in the international markets, particularly in China.

In addition to meeting new partners, participation in an exhibition on such a scale helped the company to identify as clearly as possible its target audience in China, to introduce its products to them and create mutually beneficial relationships with Chinese partners.

The Russian products presented at the exhibition aroused lively interest among the forum guests, among whom there were not only professionals, but also ordinary visitors who are interested in the latest trends in the food industry. Booths of Russian companies were constantly surrounded by Chinese visitors, who were looking at the colorful decoration of the pavilion with curiosity, and were interested in the features of the products and tasting the samples offered.

"By creating a favorable impression of the Russian food products in particular, as well as of the Russian business community in general and responsibly relating to bilateral relations between the countries, Rusprodexport has established itself as a reliable partner for international companies, as well as for Russian producers and suppliers. Helping to strengthen international ties, "Rusprodexport" is engaged both in producing and supplying food products from Russia," the company said.

This year during the exhibition Russia has opened a joint pavilion of Russian exporters. Sergey Inyushin, the Russian Trade Representative to China, who spoke at the opening ceremony, noted that the Russian-Chinese relations have been developing steadily lately. In his address, which was read out during the exhibition, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia in China Andrei Denisov noted that the agricultural products in general and food products in particular represent a promising and rapidly growing niche of mutual Russian-Chinese trade.

As Andrei Denisov noted, Russian food exports to China increased by 42.2% in 2018 and reached $2.52 billion.

For his part, Russian trade representative to China Sergey Inyushin noted that Russian-Chinese relations have been developing at a stable pace lately.

According to him, the trade turnover between the countries exceeded $107 billion in 2018.

"This is a very big figure, and I would say that this is a historic mark that we have jointly crossed. I am pleased to note that in this figure, a very important and great contribution was played just by the supply of Russian food and agricultural products," he stressed.

Business program of the Russian pavilion, in addition to direct negotiations between Russian and Chinese companies, was full of presentations and seminars on the most relevant issues for the promotion of Russian exports. All this contributed to the fact that the Russian companies who came to the exhibition had an opportunity to find partners not only in China but practically in all corners of the world.
